The Buhler Automatic Laboratory Mill is designed to produce flour samples for testing by milling small quantities of wheat. These samples closely match the characteristics of flour produced in commercial flour mills.
Before purchasing wheat, the automatic laboratory mill provides an efficient method for evaluating wheat quality by milling and analyzing flour samples. This mill is also suitable for agricultural research laboratories engaged in grain breeding and testing, as it aids in determining wheat quality.
Its compact design makes it ideal for laboratory environments. The mill delivers quick and reliable results, providing information on yield, ash content, color, maltose levels, gluten quantity and quality, baking performance, and response to chemical treatments.
In addition to the standard laboratory mill, the Durum Wheat Laboratory Mill is designed for processing durum wheat into semolina and coarse flour for quality assessment. It follows a unique process and differs from the standard MLU 202 by featuring corrugated rollers instead of smooth ones and using specific sieves and screen sizes.
The Buhler Laboratory Mill MLU 202 and Bran Finisher MLU 302 are certified by the American Association of Cereal Chemists (AACC Method 26-10A - Laboratory Milling) as standard equipment for wheat quality testing. They are also endorsed by the U.S. Wheat Associates and the Australian Wheat Board.
